He that Despiseth Me Despiseth Him that Sent Me

He that Despiseth Me Despiseth Him that Sent Me

Deuteronomy 23:1–25:19; Luke 10:13-37; Psalm 75:1-10; Proverbs 12:12-14

It is Not About You!
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. – Luke 10:16

Important to remember that the message we carry is not about us. It’s not about someone accepting us and following our footsteps. When someone rejects the message we share, it isn’t about us either. According to Jesus, a person who rejects us or our message is rejecting God. Rather than trying to care for our hearts when we face opposition, we should turn all of our attention toward God. Imagine the rejection God feels daily. Imagine how the Name of His beautiful Son is defamed daily. Imagine the blame He takes for things He has nothing to do with every single day. God sent His Son to die for us, and yet we as a whole love darkness more. It’s heartbreaking. It’s not we who have been rejected; it’s God. Have you ever considered that God not only cares for us but wants to be cared for by us? Maybe we all should spend time with our heavenly Father today for no other reason than to love Him.

If You Vow a Vow…
When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee. That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.  – Deuteronomy 23:21-23

Promotion and Demotion Comes From God
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. – Psalm 75:6

Our Mouths Can Get Us in So Much Trouble
The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.– Proverbs 12:13:14
